The Nigerian Union of
Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its isolated strike in
Ekiti state with immediate effect because of the intervention of Osun State
Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola.
The crisis between Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose and oil marketers in the state who had been at loggerheads over the location of some filling stations in the state was resolved by Aregbesola in Osogbo, capital of Osun State on Sunday evening.

The truce which was reached
on the intervention of Aregbesola led to the end of the three week old
industrial action embarked upon by NUPENG in Ekiti.
In his remarks, Governor
of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola commended the maturity that the leadership of
NUPENG and IPMAN exhibited in resolving the crisis between them and the
government of Ekiti state.
Speaking shortly after
the communiqué was read and signed by parties involved, Fayose said the he came
down to Osogbo for the resolution of the matter to let the world know that the
Yoruba nation can take care of its affairs.
Fayose commended the
swift intervention Aregbesola in resolving the lingering crisis which had led
to the isolated acute scarcity of oil products in the state.
