Factional Pensioners’ Group Lie on Payment of Severance Allowance - Aregbesola



Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola has debunk the statement credited to a faction of the associations of retired civil servants in the state that the he paid the severance allowance of political office holders who served between November 2010 and November 2014 with a sum of N50 million each.
 
Aregbasola said this in a press statement by his Media Adviser, Mr Sola Fasure in Osogbo in which he said that the information given by the Forum of 2011/2012 Pensioners, led by Mr Omoniyi Ilesanmi was untrue and misleading and baseless.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, capital of Osun State on the commemoration of the 2017 International Youth Day, Oyintiloye described the youths as vital factor in attaining growth and development.

NAPTIP Opens Zonal Command in Osogbo for Ekiti, Osun, Ondo

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has opened a zonal command in Osogbo for Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states to reduce pressure on the Lagos state command of the agency.
 
The official inauguration of the NAPTIP new office in Osogbo by the Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola was witnessed by high caliber personalities, traditional rulers and heads of security agencies in the state.  
 
Aregbesola who was represented by his Special Adviser of Security Matter, Mr Tope Adejumo promised that the state government would collaborate with the agency to curtail human trafficking.
 
Speaking on the occasion, former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola said he was ready to support the agency in the war against human trafficking. Oyinlola urged the agency to take the campaign against human trafficking to the grassroots.

The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and some state governors stormed Ilesa, Osun State on Tuesday, for the 8 day fidau prayer for Alhaja Saratu Asake Aregbesola, the mother of the Governor of Osun State, Mr Rauf Aregbesola.  

The event was attended by Governors of Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Zamfara, Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo and Ogun States, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Alhaji Abdulazeez Yari, Mr Ayodele Fayose, Mr Abiola Ajimobi, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu and Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Over hundred thousand children die in Nigeria annually due to inadequate breastfeeding

At least 103,742 children died in Nigeria annually as a result of inadequate breastfeeding, according to the United Nation Children Fund (UNICEF).
UNICEF Nutrition Specialist, Mrs Ada Ezeogu disclosed this at a 2-day Media Dialogue on Breastfeeding and Global Breastfeeding Collective held in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of activities marking the World Breastfeeding Week.
