GUNMEN KIDNAP OSUN INDUSTRIALIST, KILL DRIVER

An industrialist, Dr. Olayinka Obaleye, popularly known as Yinka Oba, was late Tuesday abducted by  gunmen in front of her company, killing her driver on the spot.
It was gathered that she had finished the day’s work at her company located at Ilo-Ijesa, Ijebu-Jesa Road in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State and was about leaving when the gunmen accosted her vehicle and took her away after killing her driver.

Obaleye is the founder and chief executive officer of Yinka Oba Foam Nigeria Limited, a family company that produces foams. She was given a national honour by President Goodluck Jonathan last year. Checks by our correspondent showed that upon her abduction, workers at the company deserted work, except two security guards seen at the company’s gate.
Kidnappers had on August 5 last year abducted another businessman, Idowu Obembe, the chairman and chief executive officer of Nobility Stores in Ilesa in a similar circumstance. He was murdered and his remains were found in a thick forest suspected to be his kidnappers’ den even when his abductors had collected an undisclosed amount as ransom from his family.
Police Commissioner, Mrs. Dorothy Gimba, confirmed the kidnap and assured that work was on to track down the abductors and ensure that the victim regains freedom. The commissioner spoke through the state command spokesman, DSP Folasade Odoro.
